EPS densifier helps Canada recycle the public enemy No. 6 waste EPS

A report from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce earlier this year found that, in 2012, 80 % of EPS waste in Canada, more than 6,500 tonnes, ended up in landfills or waterways.  Just 35 % of communities accept EPS in their recycling programs, according to the Canadian Plastics Industry Association.Virginie Bussières jokingly refers to EPS as "public enemy No. 6."

Some communities do not organize EPS recycling not because of poor awareness of recycling, but because residents do not know that waste EPS is 100% recyclable. Our discarded EPS takeaway containers, furniture packaging, coolers, and other products end up in rivers, seas, landfills, or even incinerate instead of being recycled. Once in nature, they can take centuries to decompose or never degrade. The good news is that Canada has begun to pay attention to EPS recycling. The report provided by EPS Industry Alliance shows that although the EPS recycling rate in Canada has fluctuated in the past ten years, the recycling rate in the past two years is steadily rising and reaching a new high!

In the process of recycling waste EPS, if the amount is very small, for example, residents transport waste EPS produced by their families to the designated recycling location, then it is very easy, just pack these EPS and put them in the trunk of the car. However, the situation is different for large-scale recycling stations that centrally recycle waste EPS and industries that generate a large number of waste EPS. In this case, the EPS densifier is a piece of indispensable basic equipment in the entire EPS recycling system.

Why is EPS densifier essential? Because, EPS contains a lot of air, up to 98%. This makes waste EPS bulky and difficult to recycle. GREENMAX EPS densifier can heat and melt waste EPS and compress it into dense EPS ingots with a compression ratio of up to 90:1, which is convenient for recycling and saves recycling money (transportation, storage).

In the whole recycling process, GREENMAX not only provides an EPS densifier to compress waste, but also has its own unique EPS recycling system. Reuse waste EPS is something GREENMAX has been insisting on for more than ten years. Purchase waste EPS to make hard plastic particles, and add different color masterbatches during the granulation process to control the color of plastic particles to make different plastic frames to achieve real waste use.

Using EPS densifiers to recycle EPS can continue to increase EPS recycling in Canada and make recycling more efficient. If you also have waste EPS to recycle, then do not hesitate to contact GREENMAX, we will make a recycling plan for you free of charge!
