As in many regions, the solid waste treatment system of Lebanon does not accept foam for recycling. On the contrary, the end result of this non-biodegradable material is usually put into the garbage can, and then occupy the limited landfill space, which poses a great limitation to the development of foam recycling.



In order to open up a new path for foam recycling, Sustainable Lebanon and the Lebanon Rotary club set up a collection station for foam plastics and other plastic foam forenoon on Saturday morning. They will transport the foam materials to a recycling facility in Massachusetts and then send the collected various foams to Canada for disposal. They hold a common view that foam recycling needs to be assisted by a foam densifier, which can remove air from materials.



As common recycling equipment at present, foam densifier has been proved to be a very feasible recycling scheme under the practice of many large foam recycling households. Local volunteers also highly recognize this equipment. The foam densifier can not only compress 95% of the air in the foam and turn it into compact ingots, but also connect its recovery and recycling process, transfer it from the waste stream in the region, and finally return to the recycling market as plastic particles.

For each city, a major consideration of whether to introduce foam processing facilities such as the foam densifier is whether the region can collect enough foam to make the recycling project feasible? Otherwise, in terms of finance, it is obviously not allowed to pass the review of a scheme that consumes funds but fails to achieve the expected results. 



Therefore, for every recycler or resident who has always paid close attention to the environment, only by combining all people's efforts to invest in foam recycling can local recycling have the opportunity to further develop. The promotion of the foam recycling project requires the participation of everyone in recycling. Such recycling activities should be held more to provide recycling channels for recyclers.

As the boom of foam recycling continues to soar, will foam densifier become a new milestone in foam recycling? Yes, but it's not the only. Foam densifier will just be our best assistant on the recycling road, and we ourselves are the biggest promoter.
