Styrofoam densifier helps to close the economic loop while enabling waste Styrofoam recycling

MIDDLETOWN — The Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and American Ordnance on Thursday celebrated the completion of the Middletown campus's $7.2 million recycling center that will divert waste from local landfills and help give new life to would-be waste. The most surprising thing is that this recycling center receives waste Styrofoam, making styrofoam recycling convenient.

Styrofoam is a widely used packaging material, but in the early years, due to the lack of recycling technology and people's weak awareness of environmental protection, this white garbage was not properly handled, causing environmental pollution. So styrofoam packaging also became notorious. It all comes down to the wrong way humans recycle. " Through this recycling center, reuse is possible," IAAAP Environmental Coordinator Randy Doyle said ahead of the facility's ribbon-cutting ceremony. "Take waste styrofoam as an example, we have a production line that processes nearly 50 tons of waste styrofoam per year. Previously, this waste styrofoam would have been sent to a landfill for disposal instead of being recycled properly.

Randy Doyle said he wanted to use styrofoam recycling equipment to compress waste styrofoam before making new plastic products. Because styrofoam is huge, but light in weight, 98% of which is air, if it is not compressed, it will consume a lot of transportation costs and storage space. For the volume reduction problem of styrofoam, a styrofoam densifier is a very good choice. The styrofoam densifier designed and produced by the well-known brand GREENMAX has a very high compression efficiency. It can compress waste styrofoam to 1/90 of its original volume. The styrofoam is melted into a jelly by hot-melt technology and then cooled to form the dense styrofoam ingots.

Burlington City Manager Chad Bird after he and Des Moines County Regional Solid Waste Commission Executive Director Chris Ball said it was fortunate that waste styrofoam could be recycled mechanically, his area does not currently have a good solution to styrofoam recycling, and they think recycling equipment is too expensive.

GREENMAX is a medium and high-end machinery brand, the price of styrofoam densifier is reasonable and cost-effective. Don't just focus on short-term costs, GREENMAX provides a one-stop styrofoam recycling system, using compressed styrofoam to make frame bars, and long-term cooperation with GREENMAX to join our styrofoam recycling system is to form an economic closed loop. From the standpoint of sustainable development, the use of mechanical recycling of styrofoam is an activity that is beneficial to economic development.
