Recycling of polyurethane foam may grow

Polyurethane products often are simply called “urethanes”, but should not be confused with ethyl carbamate, which is also called urethane. Polyurethanes neither contain nor are produced from ethyl carbamate.

Polyurethanes are used in the manufacture of high-resilience foam seating, rigid foam insulation panels, microcellular foam seals and gaskets, durable elastomeric wheels and tires (such as roller coaster, escalator, shopping cart, elevator, and skateboard wheels), automotive suspension bushings, electrical potting compounds, high performance adhesives, surface coatings and surface sealants, synthetic fibers (e.g., Spandex), carpet underlay, hard-plastic parts (e.g., for electronic instruments).

The market is driven by growing demand of polyurethane in the building & construction industry. This growth results from an increase in demand for rigid foam mainly for insulation purposes. Rigid foam lowers energy costs by reducing heating and cooling requirements.

Due to the growth of the polyurethane foam market. The waste polyurethane foam materials will be growing too. This may cause other problems like pollution and high disposing costs. However, the cost to produce polyurethane foam is less than the cost to move, store, disassemble and even landfill. So here is a solution to reduce the cost of dispose the waste polyurethane foam materials which can solve many people’s concerns.

Polyurethane foam recycling can effectively dispose the waste polyurethane foam. Recycling is the most environmental and economical method to deal with the recyclable materials. Nowadays, there are many companies can supply recycling equipment, such as GREENMAX compactor from INTCO recycling.

GREENMAX compactor is a kind of compressing machine which can smash the bulky foam into pieces and then its compression system can compress the foam pieces into blocks. The blocks can be easily stored which only need a little space. And this blocks can save a lot of transport fee. What’s more, the compactor itself only need a little space too.

The compactor can also be used to recycle other kinds of foam materials. Such as EPS,EPE,XPS and so on. Especially EPS materials, because INTCO can not only recycle EPS into blocks, but also can purchase back the blocks to granulate PS pellets and to make frame products. It is a totally circular process. With this solution, more people can help protect environment and can save more resources on the earth.
