Recycling equipment to dispose your ”soles”?

Actually, the most common material of the soles is the EVA foam material. EVA is an elastomeric polymer that produces materials which are "rubber-like" in softness and flexibility. The material has good clarity and gloss, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive waterproof properties, and resistance to UV radiation. EVA has a distinctive vinegar-like odor and is competitive with rubber and vinyl products in many electrical applications.

What other areas can this EVA material be applied to?
EVA is one of the materials popularly known as expanded rubber or foam rubber. EVA foam is used as padding in equipment for various sports such as ski boots, bicycle saddles, hockey pads, boxing and mixed martial arts gloves and helmets, wakeboard boots, waterski boots, fishing rods and fishing reel handles.

It is typically used as a shock absorber in sports shoes, for example. It is used for the manufacture of floats for commercial fishing gear such as purse seine (seine fishing) and gillnets.

In addition, because of its buoyancy, EVA has made its way into non-traditional products such as floating eyewear. It is also used in the photovoltaics industry as an encapsulation material for crystalline silicon solar cells in the manufacture of photovoltaic modules. And EVA slippers and sandals are popular, being lightweight, easy to form, odorless, glossy, and cheaper compared to natural rubber. In fishing rods, EVA is used to construct handles on the rod-butt end.

But how to recycle EVA materials? And what can the recycled EVA used for?
EVA materials recycling is not common to see at present. But there are many benefits of EVA recycling , such as conserving energy and resources, reducing transportation and storage costs, and granulating to produce other plastic products. EVA recycling is very simple, only need a recycling equipment called melter.

GreenMAX Mars series melter from INTCO is a professional recycling equipment for foam materials, including EVA materials which can also be processed. Its work principle is very simple. It uses its crusher to cut the EVA into pieces, then the EVA pieces can be hot melted into ingots through the melter’s melting system. And this machine can work at a 90: 1 ratio to melt EVA, greatly saving the storage space.

What can recycled EVA be used for?
Many granulators will have demands for recycled EVA materials, they will use recycled EVA ingots to granulate, because EVA pellets can be used to produce other plastic products. This is a recyclable process which is helpful for protecting the environment.

INTCO's GreenMax recycling equipment has already supplied large quantities of recycling solutions to many countries around the world. INTCO has also been contributing to innovation for the environment and worldwide recycling. And its EVA recycling solution is getting more and more mature.
