GREENMAX ZEUS Serie foam compactor frees fabricators from the trouble of recycling EPE foam

People are now more and more aware of waste foam recycling, but the types of foam that people recycle are mainly limited to some common types, such as EPS foam and XPS foam. For some companies engaged in the packaging production and cutting industry, the foam scraps they produce after cutting are complex, and EPE foam is the foam category that many recycling stations are unwilling to acquire. The recycling results are not very satisfactory.

EPE foam is a low-density polyethylene grease that undergoes a physical foaming process to produce a non-crosslinked closed-cell structure. This material is recyclable but difficult to recycle. It has not achieved excellent shock absorption performance, and its elasticity is extremely high and very tough. However, due to its high elasticity, it is difficult to compress it tightly during the recycling process.

I believe you have also noticed that in the foam recycling activities held in various states in the United States, most areas will indicate that soft foam (EPE foam) is not accepted. The person in charge said that these waste EPE foams are difficult to recycle, and they have no way to convince the recycling station to accept them.

This situation does not only exist in the United States. A Swedish-based fabricator engaged in the foam cutting industry has tried to recycle EPE foam. He used an ordinary foam compactor to compress EPE foam, but the compressed material produced was very loose, and the surface EPE foam kept peeling off, which caused him a headache. However, giving up recycling has to pay expensive landfill fees and incineration fees, followed by unnecessary transportation costs, gasoline costs, labor costs, etc. Uncompressed EPE foam is messy and inconvenient to manage, resulting in untidy warehouses.

Due to the constraints of the policy, the local requirements for new products to use 30% recycled materials, and the tax on waste incineration is getting higher and higher, the fabricator decided to choose better equipment to recycle EPE foam, so got in touch with GREENMAX. GREENMAX ZEUS Serie foam compactor adds a hot-melt ring based on conventional foam compactor so that the surface of compressed foam blocs is carbonized by high-temperature heating, forming a layer of "binding", to prevent the EPE foam from falling out due to incompact compression.

It is also worth mentioning that, although the GREENMAX ZEUS series foam compactor has the function of surface hot melting, it mainly relies on screw compression technology, which is more energy-efficient than the foam densifier that adopts hot melting technology. This customer takes this very seriously and is very satisfied with the foam compactor of the GREENMAX ZEUS series. After receiving the machine, the guests reported that all the previous problems were solved, the compressed material became compact and dense, and the 5S on-site was also very clean.
