Airpol - Italian EPS Manufacturer Has Successfully Constructed an Internal EPS Recycling Industry Chain with the Assistance of GREENMAX

Airpol Italia is a famous EPS manufacturer in Italy. Compared with other manufacturers, Airpol not only started EPS recycling earlier but also developed an EPS granulation business and entered a deeper field of EPS recycling. For many years, Airpol has been following the trend of plastic recycling and circular economy.

The recycling history of Airpol goes back to 2006 When De.Com S.R.L. used to produce industrial packaging in EPS for some enterprises. De.Com management decided to start tracking materials of self-production to withdraw them and reinsert those materials on the production cycle. In 2017, some of De.Com assets has been acquired by Airpol Italia and the recycling asset has increased a lot.

Since January 2021, the EU has promulgated the policy of restricting the export of plastic waste and scrapes to non-OECD countries, which has greatly changed the distribution of waste plastic recycling in the world.

According to Eurostat and the United Kingdom’s Office for National Statistics, The European Union exported some 660,000 tons of plastic waste to Turkey in 2020. Under this policy, European countries need to start recycling waste plastics in their own countries. At the same time, the plastic tax policy related to plastic recycling is promoting manufacturers to strengthen recycling.

Airpol Italia, like many companies with foresight, began to recycle waste plastic many years ago, including EPS materials. They reached cooperation with the GREENMAX Recycling at the ECOMONDO exhibition in 2014, purchased a GREENMAX EPS compactor A-C200 and started their EPS recycling business. This EPS recycling equipment is mainly used to recycle the agricultural boxes sold to local customers. It not only helps customers save warehouse space but also saves waste disposal costs.

Airpol has not stopped its development because of its current achievements in recycling. It is still expanding its EPS recycling business. According to the data, in 2021, it recycled more than 1000 tons of EPS from agriculture, daily packaging, and other industries. In addition, Airpol has also developed an EPS granulation business, recycling EPS blocks treated by EPS compactor from Italy and reprocessing them through the granulation process. By 2022, Airpol plans to increase EPS recovery to 3000 tons.

Since its establishment in 2010, GREENMAX has always adhered to EPS recycling and used 100% waste EPS to produce photo frame products, creating its internal recycling industrial chain. Its EPS recycling business covers a wide range, including preliminary treatment of EPS volume reduction, granulation, and terminal utilization.

With the support of this complete recycling industry chain, GREENMAX, on the one hand, provided Airpol with an EPS compactor to help it with volume reduction pretreatment; on the other hand, GREENMAX assisted Airpol in granulation production, EPS particle quality assessment, and EPS particle market potential assessment when Airpol further developed its EPS recycling business.

The cooperation between the two companies continues to deepen. Now, GREENMAX introduces the local EPS blocks resources in Italy to Airpol and suggests its recycling equipment customers sell EPS blocks to Airpol to help Airpol better realize its plan to recycle 3000 tons of EPS in 2022.

In addition, GREENMAX and Airpol reached strategic cooperation that can achieve a win-win situation in November this year, that is, jointly provide one-stop EPS recycling service in Italy for local enterprises with EPS recycling requirements.

On the one hand, GREENMAX provides customers with a complete EPS recycling solution to help them get rid of landfill and incineration costs and gain a reputation for environmental protection. On the other hand, Airpol purchases EPS blocks densified by GREENMAX EPS compactor locally in Italy, convert them into secondary raw materials, and enters the circular economy system.

This cooperation makes EPS recycling develop more rapidly in Italy, companies with EPS waste can obtain comprehensive services from EPS treatment to sales. Since 2014, GREENMAX has been giving support to the EPS recycling business of Airpol, and let Airpol take this opportunity to form a unique advantage in the Italian EPS recycling market. Apart from this, it is hoped that the cooperation between the two companies will continue to inject strength into the local EPS recycling field in the future.
