EPS Foam Packaging Industry Has Great Prospects

EPS foam is a thermoplastic material, per cubic meter volume of styrofoam contains 300-600 million independent airtight bubbles, the volume of air contains 98% or more, due to air thermal conductivity is very small, so EPS is a very good thermal insulation material.

Styrofoam is used for a wide number of applications such as e.g. insulation and product protection during transportation.



All along, EPS is considered much more complex than other waste in recycling process and secondary reuse, but does not affect EPS waste recycling and orderly work started.

The United States is the world's largest consumer of EPS, there are 41 EPS manufacturers and independent recyclers.



Waste EPS, from family wastes such as cups, plates, food packaging, and of course there are a lot of industrial EPS, from the construction industry and manufacturing industry. Due to the it is light in weight and huge in volume, it is difficult to collect and recycle. 

American demand for EPS foam will rise at the annual growth rate of 4.1%. Polystyrene packaging recycling is necessary to protect global environment.

Housing New Project increased, consumer spending will promote Foam in household products, such as bedding, furniture and appliances. In the automotive market, increase production and improve vehicle safety and comfort requirements will also promote foam needs.

With its excellent protection, thermal insulation, moisture resistance and low cost, EPS foam accounted for 2/5 of the total demand of foam, since 2017 the market share is still large. However, the terms of overall packaging, solid waste disposal problems caused by disposable foam products, foam demand is limited.

EPS foam packaging industry has great prospects, it can be made into many products transport packaging with its light weight, seismic, moisture, corrosion resistance.

Later on, GREENMAX developed styrofoam compactor. The worker need put the EPS waste into the machine container and then the blade will crush the material into pieces with the electrical power. Then the pieces will be compressed into tight block under the pressure. Thus, at last the incompact and big size EPS are compacted into regular and tight block.
